When there is a fault on the main route, the Rx port will detect the decreasing of the optical power.

OLP Optical Line Protection Advantages
OLP Optical Line Protection FAQs
What is optical line protection?
An optical line protection system (olp) uses vacant optical fiber from different routes to build a backup path. by real-time monitoring the power status in working fiber, olp protection can automatically switch from working fiber to backup fiber when the power value of working fiber is lower than a user-defined threshold.
What is OLP in DWDM?
The OLP unit implements the dual-fed and selective receiving of one channel of signals. ... The optical switch selects one from the two channels of signals based on the optical power of the signals. In this way, the selection of signals from the working and the protection channels is achieved.
What is OLP in networking?
OLP-Optical Line Protection is a device that is used in the protection of network transmission lines, olp network can realize optical power monitoring and automatic switching. In an optical communication networks, OLP constantly monitors the optical power of working optical fiber and standby optical fiber.

For more information about olp switch and optical line protection switch, please feel free to contact us!

With the OEO repeater, we can effectively save fibre resources and network costs.

Types of OEO Repeater
01- 10G OEO Repeater
The optical transponder can convert 1G~11.3 Gbps Ethernet signals into a corresponding wavelength in CWDM and DWDM network infrastructures. It enables network operators to implement a wide range of media conversions in a compact and flexible design.
02- 40G&100G OEO Repeater
It can perfectly realize the function of optical signal regeneration and amplification, signal cleaning, and shaping with features of highly compact structure, flexible configuration, and low power consumption.

OEO Repeater Advantages
1.Wavelength Conversion
When adding a CWDM Mux/Demux or DWDM Mux/Demux into a WDM network, there is a requirement to convert the optical wavelengths like 850nm, 1310nm, and 1550nm to CWDM or DWDM wavelengths. Then the OEO transponder comes to assist.
The OEO transponder receives, amplifies, and re-transmits the signal on a different wavelength without changing the signal content.
2.Signal Repeating
In long haul fiber optic transmission, OEO transponder also can work as a repeater to extend network distance by converting wavelengths (1310nm to 1550nm) and amplifying optical power.
The OEO converter converts the weak optical signals from the fiber into electrical signals, and regenerates or amplifies them, then recovers them into strong optical signals for continuous transmission.

OEO Repeater FAQs
What does OEO 3R mean?
OEO repeater is also known as transponder OEO. This component uses the Optical-Electrical-Optical principle to offer the conversion between different wavelengths of optical signals. "3R" means re-timing, re-shaping, and re-amplifying.

Optical repeater definition
What is repeater in optical fiber communication?
An optical communications repeater is used in a fiber-optic communications system to regenerate an optical signal. Such repeaters are used to extend the reach of optical communications links by overcoming loss due to attenuation of the optical fiber.
How far can fiber go without a repeater?
Modern fiber optic cables can carry a signal quite a distance -- perhaps 100 km. On a long-distance line, there is equipment need each 80 or 100km.
What is the function of repeater?
A repeater is an electronic device in a communication channel that increases the power of a signal and re-transmits it, allowing it to transmission further.

As one of the most professional fiber optic repeater manufacturers, we provide optical communication devices, fiber optic repeater single mode, passive optical amplifier, multimode fiber optic repeater and etc. For fiber optic repeater price or more information about optical amplifier working principle, please feel free to contact us!
