Song Licensing is an agreement between a music publisher and another party who wants to use the song in some way for profit.
As more and more ways of using songs are invented, certain forms of song licensing have become very common. One example would be playing a pre-recorded music file at a party. The party organizer would need to get permission from the music publisher in order to do this legally. Other agreements for licensing songs include:
- License songs by a band for use in your film
- License songs from an artist or brand
- License a song that you sang on YouTube.
